We've worked from the suburbs of Melbourne to the most remote parts of Australia, on residential builds, large developments, modular commercial projects, and civil infrastructure.

FAQ

Common screw piling questions

What are screw piles?

Steel shafts with welded helical plates that screw into the ground to form a deep foundation. Also called helical piles or helical piers. Engineered to AS2159.

How are they installed?

Rotated into the ground with a drive motor mounted on an excavator. The helical plates pull the pile down to the load-bearing depth specified by the engineer. No excavation pit, no concrete, full load certification.

Why screw piles instead of concrete or bored piers?

No concrete to pour, minimal excavation and spoil, removable and reusable, works in most soil types, and lower environmental impact. Ideal for tight-access and reactive clay sites.

How long do they last?

50+ years when properly designed and installed.

Do you do new builds and renovations?

Both. Screw piles work for new construction, retrofit projects, and foundation repairs (underpinning).

What weight can a residential screw pile carry?

Standard residential screw piles typically support 2,000 to 10,000+ kg each, depending on size and soil conditions.

Can I just buy the piles from you?

Yes. We distribute 100% Australian-made screw piles in 76mm to 114mm sizes from stock, with larger sizes by custom order. No minimum order. See the Sales section above.
